Is this coin dead?

Nope, the developers are working hard on Nxt 2.0. This will be totally different and will help the scalability problem of the blockchain and cryptocurrency world. Nxt will be again the second generation crypto, always on front with the newest technologies and always creating stuff by itself. Jean-Lux will publish a roadmap soon.  Smiley

I heard there are old prominent NXT members that are going to fork Nxt 2.0 as soon as it's released and launch another distribution round for many, many many more interested users to get in. I like this idea.
I think there are only 1000 people or so that ever used Nxt, a new start will solve this. The world needs Nxt, but as things are now, nobody will ever have the incentive to use it.

Pretty sad. I am in Nxt since the beginning and I don't understand why this great technology (which is fully functional) never got more traction. Such a great and friendly community, great devs and constant development. I think it has something to do with the exchanges in the early days where not accepting NXT because it was different and harder to implement, because Nxt was not a clone of BTC.

Even when the Russian government is going to use it, elections pilots in the US and banks in Europe, not many is buying.

I think we need to rebrand FNXT (the motherchain for Nxt in 2.0).

I can only agree with what you're saying, when I checked it out for the first time I quickly realized that Nxt has almost everything in place and running smoothly that other projects are merely talking about and actually getting crowdfunded for. NXT was initially funded with only 21 BTC invested and it's such an amazing platform. Goes to show that people are not here for the technology but for a money-grab at the end of the day.
