Nope, the developers are working hard on Nxt 2.0. This will be totally different and will help the scalability problem of the blockchain and cryptocurrency world. Nxt will be again the second generation crypto, always on front with the newest technologies and always creating stuff by itself. Jean-Lux will publish a roadmap soon.

What would the release of NXT 2.0 solve?
I mean what advanateges or features would it have compared to the current NXT version?
Also what will be with the current NXT version after the 2.0 is released?
Will we have to exchange the current NXT to NXT 2.0 at 1:1 ratio or will there be a new ICO?!
It will solve scalability, blockchain bloat. Nxt will be one of the many childchain on the new motherchain. Forging will be more profitable because you forge (mining for old fashion folks) for all the childchains and everybody can make a childchain for each company, product, service. Exchanging assets to assets and tokens will be possible. Waves is using this idea from Nxt now. I think Nxt will have it functional quicker, we are lightyears ahead from software point of view.
The ICO part and snapshot part is very complex. Seems like when you are holding NXT you will get 1:1 amount of motherchain NXT (now called FNXT, forging NXT). On the forum is a lot of discussion about that for months, difficult topic, but very interesting.
