Bitcoin is not altcoin it is a main crypto coin all the other are altcoins,so I cannot give you answer why it is the best altcoin because it is not a clone coin or altcoin..
hard but not impossible to unseat bitcoin. although it has its flaws, it still is the dominant player with the widest network effect. If another coin can begin getting real business adoption then it will fall from #1. I think over time there will be multiple coins/blockchains with different uses, with bitcoin slowly fading
