I don't think YoBit IOU trading helps anyone - everybody was anticipating for LISK to open at $2 minimum on other exchanges and as that didn't happen there was a lot of dumping probably cause investors wanted unrelistic returns on day 1, same could happen to WAVES and I for one don't endorse this kind of trading.
Well without unrealistic expectations it wouldn't probably open beyond the ICO price. As these unrealistic expectations are received on both sides the buyer and seller side. So I am pretty sure they do a good job raising the price!
