Cloudflare is your friend and if you are serious about business look at Arbornetworks.
Cloudflare helps but it will not fix the issue of DDOS.
Looks like we are getting to step one of opening a site in a very competition driven market. I do not expect the DDOS to stop, only to intensify. Hope you manage to contain most of it
