In the OP, I stated that I wanted to keep delivery within the U.S. as a first go-around. Goldflake has pm'd me, and has convinced me to send it to him, so I am going to go to the post office.
To anyone from the U.S. who has had experience shipping to India, is there anything I should know?

I got it!
I found mine in my apartment's postbox today so it may have arrived much earlier. I'm very happy with it. I think I'll buy one more soon.
