Hey I'm looking to add 6 RX480s to my gaming PC when they come out and use them for mining.  My motherboard is a MSI Z77-45 gaming and can accommodate 7 cards.  I currently have a Titan X in one slot that I use for gaming and mining with NiceHash.  I'd like to keep the Titan where it is and add the 6 RX480s on risers.  What PSU should I buy during this upgrade/mod?  Is a platinum 1600 watt overkill?  I'm in CA and have expensive electricity.  Thanks!

What is the hash rate you are getting with titan X also if you just want to buy 6xRX480 for gaming its a bad choice but yes 1200$ and the mining speed you will get approximately ~180mh/s on 900 watts .

Is a platinum 1600 watt overkill? I don't think so . 1 card only wants 150 watts .

Thanks for the quick response!  I'd like to keep gaming on the Titan X and only use the 480s for mining.  I am concerned about PSU price and efficiency and I don't want to be bothered with multiple supplies.  I also don't want to buy a psu with more watts than I need.  I think my current supply is an 80+ Silver 1000w.

From NiceHash Miner's benchmark feature here are my stats from my Titan X.
(in MH/s)
X11 - 12.33
X13 - 9.326
Keccak - 586.93
X15 - 8.146
Nist5 - 37.12
neoscrypt - 0.763
Whirlpoolx - 314.67
Qubit - 17.84
Quark - 22.74
Lyra2rev2 - 14.15
Ethereum - 18.518

OS is Windows 7

Pretty good hash rates but still 6x480 is a better option because its cheap and the hash speed is high on lower watts also 30mh/s is an expected hash rate wait till 29th lets see what happens. However if we get 25mhs still its better then 1070/1080 because of its price .
Your PSU complete model and name?
