Updating on the slack channel is NOT a professional update and definitely is not a proper place to make announcements. Secondly, Twitter is not updated very often and when it is done on Twitter it is 6-8 hours after it was announced in the Slack Channel

The delay was announced on Twitter AFTER the 10:00 am start time was missed. I would hope for some type of statement from the team updating us as to why there is a delay and what is being done.
I for one have invested a lot of money into Waves and would like to be treated and appreciated by the team.
