Just imagine once the fiat gateway is launched.  Will be a while but that will help decouple the price from Bitcoin and help new money to flow in which is what was happening with Ether (due to the direct dollar pairings) before the DAO hack.  Then add to that the prospect of a decentralised exchange - nobody I know of has combined the two yet.
