a numismatic evaluates only the coin while a true collector can add a symbolic value to the "entire collection" , coin + box (red/black are not the same) in this case
I tend to keep the boxes even if I get them graded. Reason being, should I happen to sell it, I'd rather be able to give the buyer the original stuff that came with it. That's just me, though.
