Ok so I got an invite by pm the other day with a TOR link to a Monero-powered Darknet market
The system felt very snappy
I've just tested deposit withdraw but couldn't test buy anything cuz no vendors active for now
Seems like it's just waiting for GUI to appear after all these years to open for general public

Really! I was wondering why a Monero darkmarket hadn't surfaced already.
As for the no-listings: the trouble comes with darkmarket sellers sticking with Bitcoin. It's now a habit, and habits aren't easy to break. It's hard for many of us folks to remember, but a practical-minded darkmarket vendor might well translate "cryptograhically insecure" (Coinjoin et. al.) into "acceptable risk."
Trouble is, it's not easy to convince a fellow that puts his freedom on the line by selling darkmarket goods that his practical-minded acceptable-risk judgement is incorrect. If ya do that, ya tend to come across as a back-seat driver (or to use your term, a "nifty boy.")
It'll be interesting to see if Monero can get over that hump...
