I think block your internet is not the answer for stay away from gambling, it will make you bored and will come back into gambling. Find a new hobby is a good plan though.
Or maybe find some real life activities, like playing cricket, playing soccer and if you have no interest in these then try to watch movies and avoid gambling. Being involved in physical activities in better than uselessly blocking internet and then regretting.
Yes, that kind of activities can be very helpful as it can help the addicted people to get more entertained and involved in it to forget about their addictions ! I think its better to consult with the doctors if you are seriously addicted !
