I sure believe that bitcoin is able to get to $1000 this year, I don't think bitcoin will be at this point during halving though.
It will probably be before or after halving that bitcoin gets to this value.

I am not sure if this is going to happen this year, it could have happened when the price was rising last time but it did not rise long enough to make it to $1000.
Maybe there still is a chance for it to happen at the end of the year but we have to wait and see what is going to happen.

The media won't pay too much attention to it if there's no good thing happening or there's nothing worth reporting. One way to improve bitcoin's popularity is by making ways to market it better to a bigger audience. With the backing of the masses, bitcoin can really make a big splash in the economic world.
