It is quite likely they'll be back. They've earned fortunes, I guess at least several thousands of Bitcoins. From the start it was clear they were going to scam people, and despite countless warnings people gave them their money. They all hoped to get a slice of the pie.
If they come back, people will just fall for it again. They can use their well-known name to earn more.
And after that, they'll pull the same with a different name. Or that process is probably already in place.
They will just keep coming back as long as there are people supporting them.
Now why people continue to support them even knowing it's scam? Clearly because they are getting paid.
But when their source of money runs away, they cry like babies.
