Well, let's see, the user got feedback from trades that were significantly smaller than the amount we're talking about here and also, they have no history being trusted with any kind of money.
Further, they prove themself to be rather untrustworthy with their behaviour in the past.
Besides that, it looks like they want to enter the contest themself. An escrow should work as 3rd party and not be directly affiliated with either side of the trade.
