i was 16 years old and i was a troubled kid. got into alot of shit was in foster care and group homes in and out of closed custody(juvenile detention center). not for violent offenses mind you but for things like mischief and vandalism and then breaches of probation ect ect. anyway i  escaped from the youth detention center one of the last times i was ever locked away while i was being escorted to a doctors appointment. i managed not get caught for a whooping 16 hours. the police saw me crossing a street and i of course ran. one chased me on foot the other in the car. it was a very hot day and i had spent the night before sleeping ina park so i was in hard shape to start with. so after about maybe a minute of running i dropped to my knees put my hands on my head and yelled back to the cop on foot that i was giving up. he ran up behind me shoved me down on my face and punched me in the back of the head 6 or 7 times cuffed me and waited for the other cop who had the car to come. pretty much crying my eyes out at this point i asked him why he had hit me and he said " i used the force required to detain you" or something to that effect. then as he was putting me in the back of the car he saw to it that i hit my head on the door. anyway i was only 16 years old i was prob 110 pounds soaking wet and i had given up was on my knees with my hands on my head and was in no way resisting arrest. filed a complaint about it and basically was told it was my word against his and obv his word means more then mine. thats just my personal encounter with police violence. cops can be snakes in many many ways. now with all that said i also had a cop buy me mcdonalds once before i got shipped of to juvie  because i had been on the run for a week and was starving and he was just a nice guy but of all the encounters i had with police that was the only one i was treated like a human being and not some piece of shit.
