On our internal tests the HEAT JVM has been capable of achieving an unbelievable rate of several millions of updates per second on commonly available 16-core server.
This is wrong actually.
It should say "on my old and rusty 4-core linux desktop - with plain spinning disks".
On a 16-core server with SSD drives its more likely to see 30 to 40 million updates per second.
