This is good news that someone outside China is trying to compete. However, just wonder how much he will be paying to build the mining site and how long it will take to be up and running? With the reward being halved just a few days ago, maybe this is not a profit driven mission?
I think John McAfee could still profit, as long as he can have minimal power to used, like in the case of renewable energy plus with this halving, some miner will discourage to ine maybe

This man is wealthy, and I think he is on spending spree

the question is why did he take him so long to join the btc ship ? or even better what did he knows about and decide to join , but then again since he used to be an IT/programmer guy.. maybe just for hobby and a little profit.. OR maybe he will roll his own crypto-currency ??
we shall see sooner or later !

An Asicminer Blade is 10GH, so 1 PH is 100,000 of these. That is a lot of hash power to mine bitcoin.
He will own a part of total bitcoin hashrate and will be mining more bitcoin than anyone else. is he a freak? I have seen his picture where he is lighting a fag with burning dollar.
He could have given out some money to poor traders like me as a charity.
The problem is that along with traders will come the scammer in the charity line !

It sounds much... but how much is it?
Let's say, how much are 10 PH compared to the complete hashpower of all bitcoin miners?
Sorry if I have to ask, I really have no idea.
atm bitcoin network is 1,573,204,423 GH/s
first number is called exa which is 1, second number is called peta which is 573 !
thats a lot ! dont you think ?!

I don't think there's anything wrong in participating though. I'm aware that some people are still mining with USB miners (333 MH/s). I'm aware that some are still mining at the GH/s range.
In short, anyone can participate.
Using a 333MH/s miner will net you 39 Satoshi per day, even avalon @ 3.2GH/s is 377satoshi per day
they can make a lot more with faucet instantly !
