I've decided to just go ahead and go with the flow:
1) will up my donation to foundation from its current 7.5%
2) will donate 3% to bigdeal (which is the amount that would be enough if everyone donated)
Just want to go ahead and do my part and let the chips fall where they may.
IOTA Big Deal donations will be considered that, donations (to foundation), because the labour involved in resolving those that donate and those that don't is too great.
If anyone has an issue with this and want their iotas back, speak now. The deal is not about ROI anyway, only about the big deal happening for IOTA's ecosystem
When and why did this change from a favored rate sale to a donation?
It's still a sale, but all proceeds go to foundation. The reason is quite simple: we don't have time time to differentiate 10s or hundreds of different people's requests, what rate they want to sell at, which want to forward to foundation and not etc. would take weeks
Sounds like a detailed writeup regarding the specifics of this deal is soon needed (respecting NDA's or whatever), imo. Frankly it is clear as mud and to expecting another 83 Tiota, within a week no less, that will need to be resolved hastily.
Actually very little has changed. All of the primary issues remain the same. We have an old 'pledge sheet' of users who wanted to contribute to 'Big deal' of which almost everyone accepted 'whatever going rate' and eventually a huge portion said 'I want to forward my sale proceedings to the foundation', so for those people NOTHING has changed. Those who were looking for a big ROI would never have gotten it anyway, this deal is about bringing on board 2 key players for huge ROI, not get some random relatively useless ROI in terms of immediate profit. This is key to asian market, community need to choose.
