Trading with good analysis, speculation or good experience is partially trading, but trading with pure luck or no experience is pure gambling
Then what is "complete" trading?
But I agree, when you are allowing your luck to play a role in your trading then your trading will change into the mode of gambling. But most of the time, the highly volatile commodity trading are simply equavalent into gambling. Because most of the traders are going only with the 50% of their skill and experience and for the remaining they are depending on their luck.

I think what he meant is that trading takes a lifetime to master. Even the best traders out there makes mistakes everyday but with time they improve on them.
I think trading purely depends on Market price. So if we want to do trading means we have to follow updates of the market daily. Otherwise it is not possible to make a profit in trading. And in gambling yes it is half skill base and half luck base game. Here sometimes our strategy will work and most of the time we need the luck to make money. So trading and gambling are not same according to me.
