I have spent some bitcoins online for purchases. Mostly though I am holding what I have and trading and lending it to make a little profit. I would consider spending more if I had more save up.
I think people would consider to spending when they have many options to buy goods using bitcoin. I know a common problem for users of bitcoin. why are still very few people using bitcoin as a payment method or make spending bitcoin
for me i can say that as in my country it is not yet clear that either it is a legal currency or not. because the government has yet not given any statement about bitcoin. may be the reason is that in my country most of the people have no idea about bitcoin they do not know any thing about bitcoin, may be our government have not yet any idea about bitcoin, therefore they have not yet given any statement about bitcoin, bitcoin is not accepted in banks in GPO and other departments and specially in those departments which are under the influence of government. on other side the general public the merchants and the shops keeper have no idea about bitcoin, may only 0.01% of our population know about bitcoin. so here in our are people are not accepting bitcoin in their shops, i only know one shop in Rawal Pindi, about 500 Kilometer away from my area where a shopkeeper accept bitcoin and the reason is that he himself involved in bitcoin, therefore i will like to say that we have no opportunities in our local market to  use bitcoin for buying stuff. but still i am hopeful that a time will come when people will start using bitcoin and i will become able to buy stuff in my local market directly using bitcoin.
