Sounds like denial, anger and bargaining all rolled into one.
You can file lawsuits but once a company enters bankruptcy lawsuits are usually discharged and everybody gets in line together. That's the whole purpose of bankruptcy protection.
Ps- It is often the threat of lawsuits that forces a company into bankruptcy.
what's the alternative for BFX's clients? waiting for Bitfinex to empty the bank accounts?
what would you do if you would have let's say 100k USD or 500K USD with them?
but there are people with millions... of course, part them will hire some guys to "fix" the issue. they will not wait for lawsuits. it's about A LOT of money not peanuts and not everybody is patient
