My first reason because im sure i can sell bitcoin at higher price then i can take some profit, my other reason just for support new technology with highest chance to beat dollar, im sure in future bitcoin will be famous like dollar.
People buying bitcoin for doing tradings because they knew they can earn a lot of money by this for investment because they want to invest and earn by doing nothing and wait for the earnings. Yeah, I actually sold some of my alt coins back into BTC at the lows last week.

Not gonna happen mate, bitcoin is the father of all so with the failure of bitcoins, altcoins do fail also. It is just good to see that altcoins is just an altcoins to support bitcoins in its journey to success as I am pretty sure altcoins would succeed also.
I agree with you, all alt coin is base on the bitcoin value no alt coin will beat the value of bitcoin and also only bitcoin are recognize by the market. alt coin need to be exchange to bitcoin to be used.

But I can take your point. the bitcoin is become a root for all of the altcoin, without bitcoin alt can't still alive because the people is excited to using alt caused by bitcoin.
