Some of the reasons i *might* consider the USA to be a plague is related
to the file sharing (piracy) communities.
I have been a P2P / File Sharing activist for a decade or two now..
And in P2P circles you will hear the term "World Police" a lot.
They were key in convicting Pirate Bay.. KimDotcom.. KickAssTorrents and many more.
The USA govt and it's endless barrage of 3 letter agencies seem to harras the world for many reasons
..tied to money and their self interests.
It's an "I WANT !" attitude.
They lost the case to Antigua and were ordered to permit them to pirate basically and pay fines etc.
Did they ?
NOPE !
They win a piracy court case and you bet they will tout that ruling as the word of god !
They literally do play like the are the cops of planet earth.
Earths laws are American laws and they will enforce them in any foreign country.
They have a weak grasp of the concept of a border.
They don't see them !
When you factor in ONLY the piracy related US govt activity then..
Yes on that alone i would call these assholes a "Plague"
But when you dig deeper you have to stop and think..
holy fucking mother of god are these guys out of control.
And WHEN is the problem going to get better ?
That's only because policy and justice are a joke in USA.
It doesn't matter if what you do is legal or not. If its moral or not. The "freedom country" won't let you do anything if it costs money to its big companies.
Doesn't matter is film and games studio profits have never been so high, you still go to jail for uploading a torrent.
And freedom stops where USA decides an information is a piece of national security...
