I find distinguishing between buy and sell in volume arbitrary. If there were 100 bitcoins traded at the given price, then somebody bought, and somebody sold. Some sites color volume bars based on if price went up or down, but it's very misleading in my opinion. But I'm open to new ideas so I'm happy to listen and if more people are willing to convince me towards this I may add such feature.

One more idea: the volume bars "just" show total trade volume. If would be awesome to distinguish between buy and sell volume - maybe by coloring a percentage of the bar in red?

HI, site in my signature solves exactly this problem. It separates not only order book bids and asks, but also trades.
