For a trader or investor, a "wait and see" strategy means buying higher with lesser chance of losing big but buying now may mean huuuuge profits.

Of course, the hype and fear of missing a big gain is what drives the pump.
I guess Synereo will pump and there is nothing I could or should do to stop it (but nothing is certain).
I just don't expect much of a follow through in terms of actual usership given the design features they have enumerated, because afaics there is no strong incentive for people to join this other than the diehard supporters they've cultivated.
Investors wet their pants when the term "decentralized" is inserted into the features list, but the masses could careless about that. It is just hassle for them.
I think decentralization is important, but the masses don't. A few people will rave about decentralized but watch the actual adoption metrics to see what the masses think (and I already know they don't care).
