Never been able to compile on windows - tried for several weeks and gave up.

I followed these instructions and got stuck in the last step. I have an error:

make: Makefile.Release: No such file or directory
make: *** No rule to make target `Makefile.Release'. Stop.

export PATH=/mnt/mxe/usr/bin:$PATH - does not help.

Any idea? Thanks.
