After the recent BitFinex hack I think next time I sell I'd rather do it in person, I trust my ability to look after myself in real life more than an exchanges ability to protect my coins.
You could try and find a way to meet a buyer first and just address that you are going to meet so there is no need to be worried about being robbed or anything. If you fix your own convenient and secure spot, there problems almost minimized. Selling in person is going to be next trend as it will be funny and instant.
Best meet up location is to have it on a very crowded where there's no chance for him to do anything harmful, and of course, you can always have a friend to watch out for you just in case. Transacting coins in person is somewhat scam-proof than buying coins online. However, the exchange for that is convenience because you both would have to travel to a place to meetup but that's worth the effort of having a scam-free transaction.
