Thanks for all the advice. I feel much better. I was getting ready to cry over my lost $$. 
I will wait another 24 hours and see how the synch is coming. Currently 14 weeks remaining but only about 5 gigs left of memory. Maybe if it doesn't work I will ask for help getting the lite wallet and exporting the key. (Not sure how to do either of this things)
