Hold, baby, hold. You already have your investment. Why would you trade your bitcoin for anything???
Why shouldn't he grow them instead of just holding them and waiting for the price to grow? He can use them for trading altcoins or bitcoin itself, the coins which are always fluctuating are good to be bought and sold again after sometime when they grow higher.
There is some legitimate reasoning behind wanting to grow the Bitcoin you have into a higher quantity, as it helps to gain you more money overall on top of the value swing with Bitcoin. While waiting for it to passively grow in value and become more valuable, there is far more money to be made in active investments.
