Could someone share how I could best prove that I am back in control of my account? I haven't checked here often and only just noticed the transactions that have happened over the past few days. Going through the messages right now for damage control.

were you really hacked ? if so then why didn't the hacker change your account's password ? i cannot see that your password was changed in the last 30 days atleast. you changed your password today just to look like you are back in the control of your account. btw, i think that you scammed the op and now you are giving this reason just because you dont want a red trust. it is a very bad act.

Edwardard,

I was hacked in the sense that someone used my account for actions I did not commit. I do not know why the hacker did not change my account's password. As I mention in my reply to equator, I just happened upon noticing the situation. I did change my password today (very very recently to this post) as that was the only method I found to "re-secure" my account. In terms of your opinion that I scammed the op and am giving this reason to avoid a red trust there are 2 main thoughts.

1) I have already received a red (negative) trust from him so I assume you mean to prevent other individuals from adding onto it. I hope that by dealing with everything in a transparent manner on this thread, I can fix this issue and ideally have those removed / provide enough evidence for future users to disregard.

2) I am offering to refund the op (and the other individual in which BTC was exchanged) after we can clear up the entire situation (as seen in the edited post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1611759.msg16200606#msg16200606). This was posted AFTER your post and I completely understand your thought process since this forum is largely anonymous and these situations occur quite often. That is why I am offering to refund the op and taking responsibility (as the amount puts it within my means monetarily) for my account.

Please let me know if there are any other concerns that I could answer and put to rest regarding the situation.

Regards,

MasonIII
