The other pools are either a NOMP or UNOMP pool where you can mine directly to your coin address (as your user name).  They are quick to setup and often work well but offer limited round and historical statistics.  As a user, you only know about the current round share information and number of blocks pending and you need to remember your address to look up information.

MPOS pools take a bit longer to setup but offer full statistics. You need to register a username, then create worker ID's for each miner you wish to point to the pool. You then can see share information by worker and track individual miners. Full round/block/block finder statistics are available with current round time estimate.  Email notification can be setup for idle miners, blocks found and payouts.
