Yes, I also don't think mining is an advantage. However miners are significant group of crypto users and many of them take POS as a limitation (and some more fundamental even as injustice). I guess it's probably most important for students who have electricity for free (paid by tax payers) . That's why Monero mining possibility is considered as an advantage after all (it brings more potential users).
