I believe this will happen in the future because day by day, more companies are accepting or using bitcoin as currency. Time will come when many people will be aware of it thereby an increase in its demand and when people see it that they can earn from it then they will use it. The drive to introduce bitcoin to the general public is not that intense yet and besides maybe for those people who knows it but didn't really understand the potential of bitcoin, they thought of it as a scam or use by criminals because that's what the media delivers to them and so that's their perception of it.
