In the late ninetees exactly the same thing was told about internet. No way governements would allow these ways of communication.
The power of governements is highly overestimated, it's the money that controls what's happening and sure they won't be happy with the current developments. But atm the current establishment doesn't have a clue.
Interesting point. Microsoft is the perfect example of a giant corp that didn't see the Internet coming. They managed to catch up from behind, using quite a bit of unfair competition to wipe out the market leaders. The point being, they caught up eventually.
Ultimately the corps will see that improving the flow of money is a good thing, and they will eventually get behind it. But that "eventually" could be long, slow, and painful.
