If your main focus is safety, I believe the btc wallet is a much better alternative. Can be better than banks also because of the low charges.
bitcoin is more safe "if" we can save our private key at safety place, and we know how bitcoin work.
the problem not all bitcoiner know about "prive key" , and he using 3rd wallet like xapo, coinbase block.io etc.
3rd wallet is like a bank in bitcoin world
