i think gambling is a addiction of hope to get profit in next bet . when we lost all of our btc or money then we think to return our principle bet amount to recover loss and then again we look toward betting.
you do have a point, aiming profits are the things which could make us addictive on playing gambling because this emotion or motive would surely pursue us t bet even more and keep coming on the next day just to bet again but the real story here is that we lose almost on our games.
I think that is what you called foolishness, because you cannot make money in the long run when you are battling with a gambling house that has a big house edge, gambling is only good for fun and we should understand and accept that. If you want to make money then invest.
