With regard to the tech, I don't see a reason to stop trusting Bitcoin. The only problem I think you may have, would be with regard to price instability, but I believe it's normal for a currency in its early stages.
the bad side of bitcoin are it's required internet connection to run , can you imagine how bitcoin transaction could be done when internet goes down? the lights go out? this is serious problem , your trust in bitcoin would just useless. it's wasn't always easy to give a full trust in bitcoin in my opinion.
