bitcoin is just a currency imo, it can't help countries directly but it can provide an easy and cheap way to conduct transactions and therefore indirectly helping and allowing poor countries to send/receive and possibly improve there local currency value.
I agree, in my opinion bitcoin will help people of poor countries, they can become freelancer of bitcoin and getting extra income via trading, mining and other activities that related of bitcoin.

I think that in poor countries you often do not have the possibility to make any kind of business because you have no bank account.
Maybe the people are not accepted by the bank or the bank is too far way.
So no transactions can be made or received by those people.
With bitcoin they can do online payments and receive money. I think that is one step in the right direction.
