The US dollar has been dictating most of the trades world wide from crude oil to anything.  Is there a possibility that it will dominate in the trading of Bitcoin?

I think that the basement price which bitcoin can be valued in fiat is USD even though USD can drop a bit.
And from the usd exchange to other currencies is defined the exchange rate for example in EUR.

If you trade the bitcoin with other altcoins, the bitcoin will be the base currency. It will be more so in the future.

Don't know what you mean on the last sentence but most of cryptocurrency investment is made in bitcoin.
So as long as bitcoin is being used so much for investment I think is good enough for the bitcoin itself.
