Completely opossite, if you consider betting marathon, its not addiction, its job. Addiction is when you cannot wait to place bet, you cannot be few days without it. I can easilly take whole summer off. And considering giving others money to bet, I see it also differently. I dont give them their money, I buy their knowledge and it is up to me how will I use it.
Sports betting as a job? 
I would think the person who says this is addicted to it and needs to get their life's priorities straight so they don't put themselves in the poor house.
