Hi guys, i'm posting to ask you for an advice. After high school i've enrolled in a 6 years degree in medicine and now i'm going to begin my 5th year but i've understood that's not my path. I'm thinking to leave university to do a 2-3 month java course and begin a career in programming. I didnt leave the university before because i missed the courage to do it and to not dissapoint my family, but i now understand that it only makes things worse. I know that you cannot give me an aswer but and advice from someone more experienced than me would help.
Sorry for my english (i'm italian) and thank you in advance

finish your last year before moving on to another path. your degree in medicine is your fallback, your safety net when the programming jig didn't work out. don't waste that 5 years when you are so near the finish line, it's also a way to appease your parents. you can also do your java course on the side while attending uni, if you're up to multitasking, so you can save time.

good luck in whatever you decide to do and i hope it works out for you.
