For me exchange website is much more safe when you are using some private payments or you can do visit coinbase.com for buying bitcoin using credit card but coinbase will ask you some confidential documents that you really need to send to them to prove that you are really the owner of that credit card.
Yes i do suggest also exchanger site a low fee than a credit card. Credit card have big fee so i dont want to recommend it. It is better use exchanger because it easy to buy and safe you are the one who control your money and do buy direct see how much the bifferent to buy and sell.
