This might be of help, just make sure to edit the silk.conf properly.

Close the wallet
Delete peers.dat
Update silk.conf

Enjoy and stake

Where's peers.dat?

I can't seem to find it. Also, I downloaded the wallet SilkNetwork recommended, and it removed the warning sign, but it still shows I have 0 active connections.

Wow man you don't even know what they are for!
You have to find an hidden folder called AppData as ttoroie showed you. Then you have to go into another folder called Roaming and finally you will find the silk folder. There you will find peers.dat and silk.conf
Please find below a guide that will help you find that folder
