Seriously though, based on that web archive article Gary Le seems like a pretty scummy bag, and Poramin was too busy launching closed source pump and dump scam coins to keep working on Vertcoin (which according to devtome article was instamined pretty badly too). Not sure why anyone would trust this dynamic duo with a coin that requires a trusted setup.
Plus they're using the first iteration of the technology, zerocoin, that was developed in part by Poramin's former professor Matthew Green, while zerocash will use the more recent iteration, zerocash (and has Matthew Green listed as a contributor, who actually has a reputation to be put on the line, not too mention Zooko et al.). I wouldn't use zcash either, for issues related to trusted setup and opt-in privacy features, but given a choice between zcash and zcoin, there doesn't seem to be much choice at all.
I've saw a very better coin there in the forums, but I don't remember the name.
