Bitcoin users have bitcoin lying around. So if stores offer their products with bitcoin, they will have access to a new class of customers. As for normal customers, I don't see any benefits.
Actually main benefit for vendors, merchants will be cheaper transaction fee than traditional credit card POS system and also far more easier than all those traditional banks, cards system to implement it and no device other than usual mobile or laptop device is required to start accepting bitcoin payments.
