Basically he got burned by putting money into supporting the original release with merch, and then there was the whole crash, and so seemed pretty reluctant to get back in. I just got a short response back when I contacted him towards the start of the revival. I think it's been more than a year since I contacted him. I should do so again at some point and want to offer him both NYAN and USD, but sort of want to wait until I have more USD I can offer. Basically want to be giving him tribute in recognition of creating the original and the work he did to support it originally. Also...I wonder if he still has any of that original merch? I know he sells nyancat stuff, but I think this was nyancoin. Quite possible he got rid of it.

My hope is definitely that we get him back on board someday, but I want to take it slowly to show we're not another fly-by-night and above all, make sure he can't lose any money on it this time around (that is, it's going to be about giving him gifts and asking nothing in return apart from, at most, hopefully an endorsement someday and perhaps in the best possible outcome, if he got involved in the community...that would be amazing).


Cool, that seems reasonable. I won't guarantee anything, but Coin_trader, if you're interested, go to the subreddit and read some of the posts. Unfortunately, it's quite messy, but I hope you can get some flavor of it. If you're interested in translating some of the posts, I might consider sponsoring that if you're interested. But they can be somewhat long and complex and I wouldn't want to be going more than perhaps 50-100k per post, and only for some of the more central posts. I'm going to go make a post on Reddit now with more detail, but I got a second job, so I'm going to be working seven days a week for a bit. Probably won't be online much for the next month or so. After that, I'll be switching to the new job and should be able to get online more often again.
