In my experience, i gave my friends some bitcoin about 1 dollars each person to top up their phone and also to introduce bitcoin to them, and guess what they are interested since they don't need to go outside for purchase it, it's really simple just in single click , however when i talk bitcoin to them for the first time they weren't aware and interest, by giving away i think this is good way to teach them how bitcoin is work.
