People say it's dead because they don't understand it and every time they see a drop or bad news they think it's failing.  No one knows if it will survive, but like any new technology, it can take a while to catch on.

Exactly, the ones who say such things are probably the ones who has no patience at all and if they see a price drop even a small one they start saying that the coin will now die but they don't think that it happens frequently but it recovers again but does not die so soon.
If only our trust with bitcoin is real, when we see a crisis we will always think that it is just a normal thing to happen. Bitcoin so far is the best currency and I do not understand why people are calling it dead, if they have a bad experience with bitcoin, they do not have to generalize it.

The bitcoin is the best investment for the last 7 years. But it is not the best currency. It is too volatile.

Probably due to the instability of some pessimists say that Bitcoin is dead. It is not right. Bitcoins have a great future
What is "the great future" seen through your eyes if i may ask? Transaction times will only become longer, once all bitcoins are mined alot of miners are going to stop aswell. If bitcoin ever wants to really become a big world currency, it's going to have a  hard time..

It kinda seems like it is still too early to talk about this. Right now I don't see a lot of miners falling off. In the case all bitcoins should be mined, the revenue flow generated by the fees should increase 20-25 times in fiat terms, in order to keep the miners earnings at the current level. That would be equal to the price of $10,000-12,000 per Bitcoin at the moment...

Personally, I think a lot of miners would be just happy to mine even for a fraction of that
