If you have a lot of resources and have enough money to compensate your needs.. then selling your Bitcoins is not an really option. You should invest with your Bitcoins rather than selling. Just my thoughts. 
Well it's obviously a wiser way to do if people will use first their fiat or any kinds of resources to deal with their real life spendings rather than use their bitcoin in order to covered it.
But when times that it really needs a call of bitcoin to enter the scene, it's not wrong on selling those coins.
